The registration, effective from January 1, 2026, carries validity through January 31, 2031. Under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act 2016, all residential and commercial projects above 500 sq mt of land or with more than 8 apartments must be registered with MahaRERA before any marketing or sales activity.
Registered developers are legally bound to deliver on time and as promised, developers must deposit 70% of collected funds in an escrow account, project details, approvals, layout, and completion timeline are publicly disclosed, and buyers can file complaints directly with MahaRERA for delays or defects.
